The Problem:
One of the key drink/food sevice problems in a stadium is the fact that the retail outlets experience massive spikes in demand at specific times - half time at a football match for example. The result of this peak demand is that large queues form, customers in the queue get frustrated, many customers do not bother trying to get served and ultimately business is lost because the retail outlet cannot service the demand.
Many stadiums employ temporary workers to take orders and run the retail outlets. Temporary workers may have limited traininig, which can result in inconsistent service and cash control problems.
Over the years a number of different ideas have been introduced to ease the rush - mobile backpacks units, more beer pumps, more kiosks and cashless payment etc. However, the same problems still exist because you still have to stand in line and queue to place your order.
The Solution:
Mobo2go is a mobile phone based ordering and payment solution that has been designed specifically for the hospitality and food service industry.
Customers can order and pay for food and drink directly from their mobile phone whilst in the stadium. Alternatively, the customer could pre order and pre pay for their food and drink online, before they enter the stadium. The solution can be configured to accommodate either customer order pickup or order delivery to a seat, box or table.
Pickup Operation:
- The pickup solution requires an order printer and a touchscreen display to be installed in each retail outlet within the stadium.
- The customer uses mobo2go to order and pay (pre paid account) for food and drink whilst sat in their seat. The customer enters their seat number and this will automatically route the order to the nearest pickup location. The customer receives a digital receipt confirming the order, it has a unique order number and the order pickup location.
- The order is printed out on an order printer at the appropriate retail outlet within the stadium. The order docket has the customer name and mobile telephone number. The order also appears on the touchscreen order display system.
- The order is produced and the employee selects the appropriate order on the order display system - mobo2go automatically sends an SMS text message to the customer confirming that the order is ready for collection.
- The customer leaves his seat, goes to the retail outlet, shows the digital receipt and picks up the order.
Seat Delivery Operation:
- The seat delivery solution only requires an order printer to be installed in each retail outlet within the stadium.
- Customers place orders from their seat as described above but they also enter their seat number when placing the order.
- The mobo2go system can be preconfigured to associate a seat number with the nearest retail outlet within the stadium. Instead of the customer selecting a pickup location when ordering, mobo2go automatically routes the order to the nearest retail outlet.
- The order is printed out on the order printer along with the customer name, mobile phone number and the seat number.
- The order is produced and a "runner" delivers the order directly to the seat - the customer never has to leave their seat.
