Till Rolls

Paper Types

Thermal Paper - This is heat sensitive paper and does not use ink. Thermal paper is now used in most high speed receipt machines, they have a thermal print head instead of a n ink ribbon.

Single-ply and multi-ply paper - these till rolls are used in impact or 'dot matrix' printers, also many kitchen printers use this paper as unlike thermal paper it does not fade as easily. If the printer you are using uses an ink ribbon then you can normally use single or multi-ply till roll paper. 

How to Measure Your Till Rolls

1). Measure the width of your till roll in millimeters to get your first reading. Make sure you measure carefully to ensure it fits into your equipment. (e.g. 70mm x ??)

2). Measure the diameter of your till roll from one side to the other, right through the middle. This will give you your second reading (e.g 70 x 80). Your second reading is not as important, a smaller diameter roll will just run out quicker.
